Amusing 48A005 1/48 WWII German Aircraft Me262 HGIII Concept 3 Plastic Model Kit The Me262 HGIII was a high-speed redesign of the Me262, the world's first combat-deployed jet fighter. - HG stands for `Hoch-Geschwindigkeitsjager` (fast fighter). - The Me 262 redesign was carried out in three stages. The first stage (HGI) saw the canopy shape changed to a more streamlined one and the horizontal stabilizer given a swept-back angle. - In the second stage (HGII), the wings were also swept back, and in the third stage (HGIII), the wings were swept back even more and the engines were housed one at each wing root. - There are three further concept designs for the HGIII, with Concept 3 featuring the cockpit integrated into the vertical stabilizer.
